“How did that other student get so GOOD?!”

“Practice, Practice, Practice!!!”

One of the questions I ask parents is if they have access to a pool and how often they will take their child/ren to the pool to play/practice.

Many times they tell me they don’t have access to any pools.

I tell them about the Henderson Multigenerational Aquatic Facility located at the intersection of Green Valley Parkway and Paseo Verde Parkway.

They have 3 pool areas: Indoor, Outdoor, and Activity pool.

You cannot beat their monthly rates: $21 per child and $25 per adult for unlimited access to all 3 pools.

The best option is to schedule some play/practice pool time after lessons (depending on the Multigenerational Center’s hours) to help maximize your swimming lesson investment. I’ve found this also helps keep my students focused and motivated to spend the class time learning, instead of trying to play and goof off if they know they are going to have free play time afterwards at another pool.

BONUS: They also have a swim team that trains there for any aspiring swim team students.

The Heritage Pool in Downtown Henderson has a bunch of diving boards at various heights for my students who LOVE jumping, diving and making a splash. They have set times they open their diving board areas so call them before heading over there.

ALSO…Have you checked with your HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY to see if they cover any YMCA or gym memberships that may have a pool? I am aware of a few health insurance plans that offer this benefit to families. Check your health insurance benefits every new year to see if they’ve expanded their benefits. They are realizing that by helping their clients get and stay healthy they can reduce their medical payouts as their clients will need less medical care.
