NO REGISTRATION FEES!
All classes are 25 minutes long.
Single Student = $40 per class*
For 2 students in the same class = $60 per class.**
For 3 students in the same class = $80 per class.**
A non-refundable (2) class deposit is required to lock in the spot you reserve. Without a paid deposit your spot will be released for someone else to reserve. The purpose of this deposit is to prevent families from reserving spots and then not showing up for lessons. The deposit will be applied to the first two classes. Payment for the remainder of the session is due in full on the first day of class.
**Students sharing a class must be:
1. siblings,
2. approximately the same age, and
3. must be at the same swimming level
Students must be able to handle being in a class together and pay attention to instructions. If they are unable to learn together for any reason I will divide the class time in half and teach them during the same time frame separately. Safety first.
3 students in the same class require approval before registering and must meet the same requirements as 2 students sharing a class.
There are no refunds or price adjustments if you sign up 2-3 students for the same class who cannot be taught together. You have the opportunity to sign up for an evaluation class prior to registering for lessons so that there is not question as to whether or not your children can be taught together or not. If you do not take advantage of that opportunity then you take the risk of me having to divide the class between your children.
*Special Needs Students
Yes, I do teach Autistic students and other students with special learning needs. I have many years experience teaching Autistic students from one end of the spectrum to the very other end.
However, note that there is an additional $10 fee per class to teach Autistic & special needs students. This is because they are extremely energetic and require a lot more hands on work the entire class to keep them safe. It can be exhausting. It requires a lot of strength to keep them save in the water when they are wanting to do their own thing and I’m trying to keep them safe above water. They also require a lot of advanced water safety instructor knowledge that only comes with years of experience teaching Autistic students like I have. The usual teaching strategies don’t work. I have to constantly come up with new techniques to try to reach them and help them understand how to swim.
I also have experience teaching students with severe ADHD that have a very difficult time focusing, staying still, and following directions. I charge extra for these students as well because they require an intense amount of patience, understanding and energy. I can teach them how to swim, but it will be a slower, more labor intensive process.
Children with other special needs will need my approval to be registered. I do not have a degree in Special Education so I am not qualified to teach any and all children with various learning and behavioral issues that I’ve never heard of. I am primarily a water safety instructor with dozens of years working with children of all ages, abilities and learning styles, but I am not trained in special needs education.
I am finding that parents are not disclosing to me their children’s special learning needs. If that happens, class will not start until the additional fee is paid in full AND we have a full discussion as to the students needs so that I can be prepared to teach them. This could take up the entire first class. I need to be prepared in advance to teach all my students and be compensated fairly for my time, energy and expertise.
Frequency
All class spots are for two classes per week:
Saturdays & Sundays, or
Mondays & Wednesdays or
Tuesdays & Thursdays
There are no classes on Fridays
If you want more than (2) 25 minute lessons per week you may sign up for 2 back-to-back lessons for a single 50 minute lesson.
or
(2) separate spots on different days, which would be (4) 25 minute sessions 4 days per week.
You may not share one spot with two children by having each child show up for one class per week.
Sessions
The 2025 season runs March 30th - October 31st.
Sessions are 2-6 weeks long depending on the month, holidays, and school schedule.
“Months” are not strictly calendar months. Any session could start or end before or after the month starts.
Summer sessions are 5-6 weeks long dividing the approximately 10 week summer vacation in half
(before July 4th weekend and after July 4th weekend)
See the registration page for exact availability. If you don’t see months/days/times posted they may already be reserved. Fill out the wait list form on the Wait List page. If someone cancels you will be notified. I do receive very last minute cancellations at times and families on the wait list end up getting spots. The ONLY way to get on the wait list is to fill out the form! If you call me, text me or email me asking to be added to the wait list I will direct you to fill out the wait list form on the website. The wait list form works! Parents who don’t see a spot that works for them and don’t fill out a wait list form miss out when a spot that works for them becomes available later that day sometimes!
I do NOT customize schedules.
Please see the entire section on the FAQ page about all the various scheduling questions/requests I get from parents.
There are NEVER swimming lessons on the following days/dates:
Memorial Day
July 4th
Labor Day
I DO schedule lessons on Easter, Mother’s Day AND Father’s Day. If you book lessons on these days please be sure to plan your day AROUND the swimming lesson spot you reserved. Scheduling conflicting activities on these days does not mean you can schedule a makeup swimming lesson. You are in charge of organizing your day on holidays to be able to attend class. I reserved the class for you on your commitment to me that you would be attending class that day.

Attendance Policy
&
Bad Weather Makeup Classes
I have a very simple attendance policy…attend the classes you signed up for.
It’s really that simple.
My “Attendance Policy” WORKS!
Ever since I implemented it I have the HEALTHIEST STUDENTS EVER!
I used to have the sickest students. Parents constantly calling to reschedule due to their “sick” child. Now I RARELY have a sick student. Parents are not bringing sick children to lessons either. All my students are showing up for all their classes super healthy.
I am 100% keeping my “Attendance Policy” because it is proven to protect my students from sudden illness. You are Welcome!
I do NOT schedule makeup classes for any reason except bad weather and I’m the one who decides if the weather is not conducive to swimming lessons. Yes, I do teach in the rain.
I have this policy due to the overwhelming number of parents over the years who have every reason you can imagine as to why they cannot attend the classes they booked. Most parents have no problem bringing their child/ren to every single class, while others can’t. I am unable to handle the overwhelming number of daily requests to reschedule lessons for every single reason under the sun.
If you want your child/ren to learn how to swim the only way that will happen is if you bring them to the classes you signed up for. If you are constantly missing classes then your child is not going to learn how to swim or it’s going to take them a lot longer.
Classes I cancel due to bad weather are able to be rescheduled for the first spot in the morning or last spot in the evening almost every day. These spots will not be used for parents who cannot make a scheduled class for any other reason. I teach 6 days a week. That’s a minimum of 12 opportunities every week to reschedule your bad weather makeup class.
The times of the bad weather makeup classes in the mornings and afternoons/evenings vary from month to month. Sometimes I will post mid-day spots that are available, but those are never guaranteed during any given month. You may chose any single session spot available to reschedule for a bad weather cancellation.
It is YOUR responsibility to reschedule your makeup class. If you don’t reschedule it then you will not get your make up class.
More details on both of these policies are available for you to read PRIOR to signing up for lessons. You must read these two policies and check the boxes that you read, understand and agree to these policies PRIOR to registering your child/ren for lessons. If you check the box, and do not read the policies, you are still expected to follow them. Not reading the policies is not an excuse to be exempt from them.
Single Class Reservations
Available for these select reasons ONLY:
Current Students:
Take additional classes when your schedule allows.
Bad Weather Rescheduling
Former Students:
Supplement your past lessons if you have limited time.
Potential Students:
Not sure if your two children can be taught together or need to be registered for separate classes? Sign up for a skills assessment class for them. I only need a few minutes to determine their ability and if they will benefit more from being taught together or separately.
Meet & greet Kristin with skills assessment. Excellent opportunity for shy children to meet Kristin in advance and see what swimming lessons are like. They will leave excited for lessons to begin.
Single session reservations are NOT for non-students who just want a few classes and have not registered for at least one full session.
These are also NOT for parents to create their own custom schedule.
